Predators Close Back-to-Back vs. Avalanche After Saros' 34-Save Night in Pittsburgh

Update, Sunday afternoon: NHL.com's projected lineups now say Justus Annunen is expected to start for Nashville, with Saros as backup, and list Scott Wedgewood first for Colorado ahead of Mackenzie Blackwood. Both are expected, not confirmed. Annunen faces the team that traded him to Nashville for Wedgewood.

Predators: unconfirmed. Nashville finishes a back-to-back at home against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday (8 p.m. ET), and the team's own game-day preview says the Predators are not expected to hold a morning skate, so an early goalie announcement is less likely than usual. The game also opens a five-game homestand.

Juuse Saros started Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss in Pittsburgh and made 34 saves on 37 shots, according to the NHL.com box score. Whether he goes again on zero rest or the backup gets the night has not been announced in any source we could verify. The preview also notes Nashville claimed defenseman Daemon Hunt off waivers from Minnesota.

Avalanche: unconfirmed. Colorado is rested after not playing Saturday. Mackenzie Blackwood started the Avalanche's last game, Friday's 6-3 win over Tampa Bay, making 31 saves on 34 shots, per NHL.com. Scott Wedgewood dressed as the backup.

We will update the NHL starting goalies board as soon as either team confirms. Nothing here is betting advice.
