Evening update (5:20 p.m. ET): Spencer Knight, not Arvid Soderblom, started for Chicago against Florida, per the NHL.com box score. The Islanders' own preview now expects Ilya Sorokin, not Semyon Varlamov, in Dallas. NHL.com projects Jacob Fowler and Stuart Skinner for the Heritage Classic, Scott Wedgewood and Justus Annunen in Nashville, and Leevi Merilainen for Vancouver. The live board has every source. The rundown below is the original morning version.
Five games are on the NHL schedule for Sunday. Here is where every crease stands as of Sunday morning ET (updated 9:35 a.m. ET). "Confirmed" means the team or an on-site reporter has said so; "expected" means a credible projection that is not yet official. The live, game-by-game version is on our NHL starting goalies page.
Panthers at Blackhawks, 3 p.m. ET
- Florida: Akira Schmid, confirmed. The Panthers' team preview says Schmid starts, with Jacob Markstrom out (upper body).
- Chicago: Arvid Soderblom, expected. NHL.com's projection lists Soderblom first and says he could play after Spencer Knight started the past five games. More in our Panthers-Blackhawks goalie report.
Islanders at Stars, 6 p.m. ET
- New York: Semyon Varlamov, expected. NHL.com's projected lineup lists Varlamov first in goal, ahead of Ilya Sorokin. The Islanders have not confirmed it in sources we checked.
- Dallas: Jake Oettinger, expected. The same NHL.com projection lists Oettinger with Casey DeSmith as backup.
Canadiens at Jets (Heritage Classic), 7 p.m. ET
- Both unconfirmed. Winnipeg's options are Stuart Skinner and Clay Stevenson after the Hellebuyck trade, NHL.com reports. See our Heritage Classic goalie report.
Avalanche at Predators, 8 p.m. ET
- Both unconfirmed. We found no team or beat-reporter confirmation yet. Nashville is on the second night of a back-to-back, which often means a goalie change, but we will not list a starter until a reliable source does.
Wild at Canucks, 10 p.m. ET
- Minnesota: Calvin Pickard, confirmed. Coach John Hynes announced Pickard for the second half of the back-to-back, The Hockey News reports. More in our Wild goalie report.
- Vancouver: unconfirmed.
This page will be updated as teams confirm starters after morning skates. Nothing here is betting advice.
